As Galaxy Ag Ventures grows, we see investing in R&D as a key component to our success. Galaxy Ag Ventures has been the main subject of Lupin’s Canadian seed research and development. We are now promoting perilla seed and rice seed development that meets the Canadian topography and climate conditions. We are also working with farmers for contract cultivation or direct cultivation of grains (special crops) and vegetables.

Lupin Research
Lupin grain is characterized by high protein content, excellent oil quality, high fiber content and many minerals that are essential for our health. By selectivity breeding grains with a scientific focus, lupin has a bright future ahead. Lupin crops have adapted to low input farming - meaning that less resources are needed to produce these crops.
Rice Seed Research
Rice is predominantly grown in Asian countries and imported to Canada for consumption. Almost all of rice consumption in Canada is grown overseas. However, we strive to deliver from "seed to fork" in Alberta by growing crops closer to home.
Perilla Seed Research
Perilla seeds are one of the highest sources of omega 3 seeds and have many studies linking them to good health. We are currently promoting seeds that meet the Canadian topography and climate conditions to deliver a sustainable future.
